King John Lies Again (Why Am I Not Surprised)

The bad boy of conservatism is up on his high horse spewing lies about SB5.  He says if SB5 is repealed, that Ohio will slide into recession.  Wait just a minute, maybe it's King John's own policies that are dragging Ohio into recession.  There has not been one new job thanks to his JobsOhio program, and unemployment is climbing.

He states that taxes will go up.  Well, doesn't his party pretty much control state government.  The only way a tax increase would get through is with GOP consent.  We all know that's not going to happen.

He states that the union's will be emboldened and there will magically be "card check."  The last I knew "card check" required federal legislation to become law.  With our divided government, that's not going to happen.

The governors office must a real hoot.  A bunch of elitist pigs at the trough who sit around just making up lies.  I can just hear one telling the other, "Let's try this one, unions are fronts for abortion clinics, gay rights, and illegal aliens".  "Yep, that should pretty much cover all our bases."  With a wink, wink and a nod, the lies keep coming.

Follow The Money

The more King John does to hurt the middle class, the more likely it is that there is a money trail to a felony conviction for him.

Waging War

There is no doubt about what is happening today, the upper class is waging war on the middle and working class.  The poor don't even figure in their plans as they have no political clout.  Corporations and wealthy families are financing an ideological jihad.  Their goal is nothing less than complete annihilation of anything that gets in the way of profit.

Entitlements, government programs that don't help them, and labor unions are in their gun range.  If there is a dollar to be made from the government, Republicans are eager to privatize.  Every decision made by Republicans is to benefit the well off at everyone else's expense.  If you don't believe this then you are either criminally naive or a collaborator with the enemy.

Republicans have deceived their supporters for years.  They lead the middle class to believe they were on their side.  They held the promise of the American dream when they knew that was just what it was.  If you worked hard and played by the rules, you too could partake in the wealth that America has to offer.  The average citizen has more of a chance of picking the winning lottery numbers.

Republicans have shown their true intentions with their 2010 election victories, and subsequent legislative overreaching.  Let there be no doubt we are at war.  Let's take back our country.

The Prisoners Dilemma: Graft & Corruption

You have to wonder.  Has there been an agreement with Corrections Corporations of America (CCA) to buy and privatize Ohio's prison services? There shouldn't be.  Any such agreement would no doubt violate state  laws and regulations.

Remember that King John hired Gary Mohr as director of corrections in Ohio.  Mohr is affiliated with and wholly owned by CCA.

To add even more suspense to this mystery, the two current private prisons in Ohio are run by Management Training Corporation (MTC).  MTC's contracts expire this year.  What do want to bet that CCA is the successful bidder this time around?

Remember this author pointed out several weeks ago that CCA had been paying for repairs and upgrades to the fence surrounding North Central Correction Institution (NCCI).  NCCI is still a state run facility.

What reason would an outside private contractor have for paying for construction costs?  At best, it's a bribe to ensure that CCA has a leg up when buying the state owned prisons.  At worst, King John has committed a felony with a sweetheart deal.

Steering contracts to political contributors would not be new for Republicans in this state.  What would be new is taking good paying jobs and replacing them with $11 an hour jobs with health insurance at $400 a month, and a huge turnover rate.  That is King John's idea of  "jobs".  This is the future that he envisions.  He better look again.

Utterly Speechless

King John's rambling speech was downright embarrassing for Ohio.  He sounded like he was on coke.  He jumped from topic to topic with no coherent theme.  He mixed metaphors.  He took credit for things other people made happen (American Greetings staying put, and The New Avengers filming in Cleveland).,  He dropped names like a Hollywood whore (Bono and Arnold).  He made sure he pitched the companies that contributed to his campaign with shameless plugs.   It was the exact same stump speech he has been giving.  The boos during the speech completely unraveled him.  King John does not like criticism.  One observation, if you are reaching out to the other side, then why use under the bus metaphors?

Dirty Pool

The word is that King John is going to invoke a section of the law to deny leave to anyone working in a correctional facility. Their endgame is to prevent the busloads of correctional employees from taking time off and protesting.  In King John's State of the State address, he is expected to announce that four state run prisons will be sold to private companies. I suppose King John will claim that threat of privatization creates a hostile environment where all employees will be needed to keep the peace.  I know it sounds twisted and far fetched but you have to remember who you're dealing with.  King John, the master manipulator.

Enough

The never ending pursuit of unions by the Republicans let's me know one thing.  We're on the right track.  Let's face it, the wealthy, have brainwashed untold masses with their unfettered capitalism sermon.  Unfettered capitalism is nothing more than a license to steal.

You tell people that it is somehow in their best interests to allow a few to gain more wealth with the hollow promise of a handful of crumbs at the end of the day.  Capitalism is  a ponzi scheme.  Just like the ponzi scheme there are promises of wealth.

You give a middle aged couple good jobs, a nice house, and a couple of children and you tell them this is an economic utopia.  Add in a few credit cards, mortgages, student loans, a well oiled marketing strategy to get them to commit to buying, and you have the modern version of indentured servitude.

The Republicans sell this as paradise.
When in reality, it is a house of cards.  When economy tanks from excessive greed meeting financial gambling, the utopia is shattered.  That couple loses their job, and they are forced to make ends meet on minimum wage or unemployment.  They are told their jobs have been sent overseas.  But that's OK as this unfettered capitalism.  The couple finds jobs that are ten dollars an hour, no benefits, and a 401K they have to pay into for retirement.  The Republicans say that's too bad about your job.  We can't do anything to help you, you need to take responsibility for your own actions.  But what we can do is give you someone to blame.

Those bastards in the public sector are making much more than you.  Never mind that the jobs are dangerous such a police and fire.  Blame them for your lot in life.  You are not making that much money so let's bring them down to your level. So the Republicans sharpens their legislative swords, and sets to work to bring the middle class down to the working poor.

The wealthy are still making their money.  No one ever seriously questions this.  If they do they are branded a socialist, like socialism is a sexually transmitted disease.  The acquisition of wealth is a God given right of all Americans or so we are told.  There is a word for the sewage Republicans spew, it's bullshit.

Ask the question,
"Why can't I make more in the private sector?

"Why can't I have good pay, benefits including health insurance, and a retirement fund?"

"Why does the wealthy have a right to accumulate such vast amounts of money?
"What gives the wealthy businesses, corporations, and families the right have so much when the masses do not?
When you begin to cry out these questions the wealthy will become nervous.  You've peeled back the curtain to reveal not a wizard but greed infused heroin called the almighty dollar.  They worship the dollar.

It's not God given.  It's man made economic theology masquerading as a political party.  Question why you can't have more?  It is the beginning of enlightenment.

We've witnessed the past few weeks the power of oppressed masses to forcefully tell their leaders, "Enough", we deserve more.  And we do deserve more.  It is time we told the Republican party, and their wealthy backers, "Enough"

This Looks Like A Great Place To Picket

The Big Lie

First, he attacks public employees through SB5.  Then he goes after prevailing wage. King John has the stones to say he not anti-union.  This is the big lie that Republicans are so good at.  As King John chokes the life out of labor, he looks labor right in the eye, and says, I'm not trying to kill you.  But labor does not die, labor does not forget.  There will be blood in the streets.  Republican blood will be spilled with a sharp blow from the ballot box.

Union Busting

KING JOHN PREPARES TO TAKE A DUMP ON WORKING FAMILIES
HE'LL SWEAR TO GOD THAT HIS SHIT DOES NOT STINK.   ALL I CAN SAY IS STAND UPWIND.

King John says he's not trying to break the unions.  But he's taking collective bargaining away from state employees.  How is that not breaking the union?  But he bragging about it all over the place.  I think he really believes that if he says it enough times then it will become true.  My Daddy always says wishing in one hand and shitting in the other.

Does anyone know who this guy is?   You know what they say, karma's a bitch.  I hope the bastard goes bankrupt and then has to go on assistance!

Who Is This Asshole?

Tea Baggers Are Taken by Surprise

February 17, 2011

They thought they had the perfect idea to stand out in the crowd at the SB5 hearing.  The tea baggers were going to wear red.  The unions caught wind of this and ordered a couple thousand red t-shirts that had "No on SB5" on the t-shirts.  Poor tea baggers they blended into the crowd and into obscurity from whence they came.

Pictures from SB5 Hearing-It's a Beautiful Thing

Tea Baggers Snatch Senior Citizens

It seems the tea baggers could not get enough of their own people to attend the SB5 hearings to support SB5 so they recruited senior citizens with the promise of a free meal and a t-shirt.  One senior citizen was asked where did he retire from.  He replied that he was a state employee and he and his wife depend on the retirement health insurance.  It was explained to him that the tea baggers were out to gut the pensions and strip his health insurance away.  The senior citizen was offered on of the union's t-shirts, he excused himself and promptly changed his t-shirt to "No on SB5".  I guess he'll have to explain himself on the way home on the tea bagger express.

He's Astounded?

Really, really, I say it again really.  King John causes the "political divide" with his radical right tactics, and he has the nerve to be "astounded".  He says that the players should "put aside differences to develop the best policies for the state."  What he really means is that they should agree with his plan because he knows what is best for the state.  King John decries the public sector unions as too costly but does not even bother to ask them for their ideas on how close the budget gap.  No one has gone to any public sector union and asked "What would you be willing to give up?"
Governor Says He’s ‘Astounded’ By Political Divide
Gov. John Kasich said Tuesday he has been “astounded” by the deep political divisions he has seen in his first month as governor and called on Statehouse players to put aside differences to develop the best policies for the state.

His comments came during an event held by the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus, which has been critical of the governor’s efforts toward diversity in his cabinet but agreed in a private meeting Monday to work with the Republican on legislative priorities.

The OLBC luncheon at the Statehouse Atrium was held about an hour before the latest hearing on a rollback of collective bargaining laws (SB 5), which the governor supports, again drew a massive turnout of mostly union members opposed to the GOP policy proposal.

The governor said in his speech to OLBC that people should be able to express their differences if done with respect, but stressed they should come together to return the state to prosperity.

“I have been astounded by the partisanship that I have seen since I’ve been governor for 30 days,” Mr. Kasich said. “Not just among African-Americans and whites, but between Democrats and Republicans.”

“That kind of partisanship poisons the well that we all must drink from.”

Mr. Kasich said he never saw such partisanship during his time in Washington, D.C. “I have been aghast and the inability of both sides to communicate and work together,” he said, predicting that Democrats and Republicans will be working better together by the end of his time in office. “I have been so shocked at the distrust between the parties.”

The governor and black legislative leaders have been sparring over the number of blacks who have been appointed to key positions in the cabinet. (See Gongwer Ohio Report, February 14, 2011)

He called on everyone involved to remember they are involved in government to help serve the people. That recollection, he said, should help parties reach agreements on tough policy decisions, like the budget.

“My goal in the budget is that nobody gets passed,” Mr. Kasich said, noting that a “restructuring” of government is in order. “Delivering a better product at a lower price to serve the customer.”

Mr. Kasich also reiterated that he won’t be driven by special interest requests. “I don’t care what the special interests say,” he said. “Because if you let the special interests (HERE KING JOHN MEANS THE PUBLIC SECTOR UNIONS) dominate the process, then it always comes out hurting the most vulnerable.”

He said he would work to make the state more prosperous by making it more suitable for business. “I don’t believe we can tax our way to prosperity, but…over time we can’t cut our way. All we can do is to set the table for entrepreneurship and economic growth. And I intend to do that.”

Gov. Kasich expressed concerns about cities, noting the recent deadly shooting in Youngstown. “We need to take our communities back one block at a time,” he said.

Mr. Kasich also said he had problems with a felony charge that has been brought against a northeast Ohio woman who sought to get her kids enrolled in a different school. “We’ll see what the Parole Board ultimately recommends, but a felony for a woman who is trying to protect her kids just doesn’t seem right to me,” he said.

Senate Bill 5 Die, Union, Die

Jack Booted Thugs in Ohio Ride Again

The Tea Party is going to come out in force in support of SB5 to repeal collective bargaining for public employees.  These idiots are itching for a confrontation.  They have absolutely no idea what they are marching except that their fuhrer, King John "wants to break the backs of the union".  I say throw their ass in the nearest river and let them float away as the fecal matter they are.

Amend the Constitution to Permit Collective Bargaining?

I say, yes.  King John wants to repeal collective bargaining for public employee and make this a right to work state.  Put those rights they seek to destroy in the constitution!

It's All About the Benjamins

King John is at it again.  This time he is railing the state's prevailing wage.  He claims it is too expensive but what he is really after are the unions whose wages lift up the standard of living for all of Ohio's workers.  You see, King John believes that a job that pays $10 an hour is all you need and anymore is robbing from the construction companies. Prevailing wage ensures a healthy standard of living FOR THE WORKER.  This is something King John and his cronies are not interested in?

Why was the prevailing wage created?

Prevailing wage laws were established to maintain quality workmanship,
insure the strength of local economies through construction work, and
prevent low-wage, unskilled workers from undercutting an area’s standard of living.

The Case for Preserving the Prevailing Wagebooklet.pdf

Whatever it takes to rob from the middle and working class only to give it to the wealthy is the end game for King John.  He'll lie right to your face and tell you he's on your side while he takes money right from your pocket.

King John Must Go

We've been living under his oppression long enough (Since January, but it seems like decades).  Now is the time to rise up and oppose his iron fisted rule.  Just as our brothers and sisters in Egypt broke their bondage, we need to take to the streets.

Oh, you think I am being unfair by comparing Ohio to Egypt.  Well, frack you.  Fairness depends on which side of the boot heel you are on.  I'm feeling a boot on my neck.

It's Good To Be The King

This writer has learned that Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) has or will pay for modifications to the fence and lights at North Central Correctional Institution.  That's real interesting since that's a state facility.  But it is also the facility that the private prison companies benchmark against.  What's a private company doing paying for upgrades?  Unless, the fix is in.  And how many of these companies contributed to King John's campaign. I guess pay to play is alive and well in Ohio.  The next step will be to have the pre-determined private prison companies take over.

Here's how it will happen.  King John will see to it that collective bargaining goes away.  He's got a good start with Senate Bill 5.  Without the union to stand in their way, private companies will move in to pick this state clean as they have been promised by King John.  To the victor go the spoils!  Or in this case, your tax money is going to be siphoned out of state in the name of privatization.

It's good to be the king!

Wednesday, February 9, 2011

King John has managed to appoint a few more old white people.  Jo Ann Davidson, age 83, has been tapped to chair the Ohio Casino Commission.  Betty Montgomery and Jim Petro are slithering their way back into government.  Meanwhile qualified minority GOP favorites haven't even got a call.  White bread is all King John's grocery store sells.  Sooner or later, King John has to run out of white people to appoint.

Time To Fight

King John and his GOP cronies are punishing state workers by acting to repeal collective bargaining for public employees.  What they being punished for?  Because they dared use their rights to collectively bargain to better the lives of working men and women in the State of Ohio.  So, over 300,000 state and local public sector employees are facing the prospect of collective begging instead of collective bargaining.
King John and his GOP cronies say they have to do this to get the state and local fiscal house in order.  Funny, no one from King John's office has asked any of the public sector unions what they would be willing to give up to help with the budget crisis.  It's clear that only thing King John and GOP want from public sector unions is to die. Make no mistake about it, this is union busting pure and simple.  Actually, it is more than that, it is union genocide. It is time fight!

Jumbo Size My Government Please

I thought the GOP was all about shrinking the size of government.  In HB 94, it looks like King John is creating more government, not less:

House Bill 94

Let's face it. It looks as though King John wants to make it difficult for any regulation of small business. So he's setting up a bureaucracy to kill any initiative for regulation of small business.   Something is definitely wrong with this picture.

His Majesty Has Grand Ambitions

The rumor is that King John does not plan on completing his term as governor.  Oh, no...he is positioning himself for the 2012 vice-presidential nomination.  You see Ohio, King John cares not what happens to this state after he is gone.  What he cares about is showing conservatives nationally that he has the right stuff (pun intended).  So if that means systematically dismantling services that Ohioans have come to expect, then so be it.  The time is coming in Ohio when you will pay a private company to enter state parks, and then, if you are unfortunate enough to have to go to the bathroom, pay by the sheet for toilet paper.

Violent Offenders To Be Released?

A little Republican birdie was singing a blues tune called, "I Found Reality a Drag" by King John and the Neocons.  Seems King John found that there are not enough non-violent offenders to reduce the prison population to where his highness had promised.  In order to close or privatize prisons, will King John  decree that violent offenders will be released?  Of course, they won't be called violent offenders.  Private prisons don't like violent offenders or offenders that cost a lot of money like sick inmates so they will not be of much help.  Look for King John to direct the Department of Corrections to revise their security classification or some other administrative paperwork gimmick to allow violent offenders to be released earlier.  King John wants close a number of prisons to balance the budget.  It seems reality is intruding on the king's conservative wet dream.

Of these offenses, who do you think should be released?
