King John Lies Again (Why Am I Not Surprised)

The bad boy of conservatism is up on his high horse spewing lies about SB5.  He says if SB5 is repealed, that Ohio will slide into recession.  Wait just a minute, maybe it's King John's own policies that are dragging Ohio into recession.  There has not been one new job thanks to his JobsOhio program, and unemployment is climbing.

He states that taxes will go up.  Well, doesn't his party pretty much control state government.  The only way a tax increase would get through is with GOP consent.  We all know that's not going to happen.

He states that the union's will be emboldened and there will magically be "card check."  The last I knew "card check" required federal legislation to become law.  With our divided government, that's not going to happen.

The governors office must a real hoot.  A bunch of elitist pigs at the trough who sit around just making up lies.  I can just hear one telling the other, "Let's try this one, unions are fronts for abortion clinics, gay rights, and illegal aliens".  "Yep, that should pretty much cover all our bases."  With a wink, wink and a nod, the lies keep coming.

Follow The Money

The more King John does to hurt the middle class, the more likely it is that there is a money trail to a felony conviction for him.

Waging War

There is no doubt about what is happening today, the upper class is waging war on the middle and working class.  The poor don't even figure in their plans as they have no political clout.  Corporations and wealthy families are financing an ideological jihad.  Their goal is nothing less than complete annihilation of anything that gets in the way of profit.

Entitlements, government programs that don't help them, and labor unions are in their gun range.  If there is a dollar to be made from the government, Republicans are eager to privatize.  Every decision made by Republicans is to benefit the well off at everyone else's expense.  If you don't believe this then you are either criminally naive or a collaborator with the enemy.

Republicans have deceived their supporters for years.  They lead the middle class to believe they were on their side.  They held the promise of the American dream when they knew that was just what it was.  If you worked hard and played by the rules, you too could partake in the wealth that America has to offer.  The average citizen has more of a chance of picking the winning lottery numbers.

Republicans have shown their true intentions with their 2010 election victories, and subsequent legislative overreaching.  Let there be no doubt we are at war.  Let's take back our country.

The Prisoners Dilemma: Graft & Corruption

You have to wonder.  Has there been an agreement with Corrections Corporations of America (CCA) to buy and privatize Ohio's prison services? There shouldn't be.  Any such agreement would no doubt violate state  laws and regulations.

Remember that King John hired Gary Mohr as director of corrections in Ohio.  Mohr is affiliated with and wholly owned by CCA.

To add even more suspense to this mystery, the two current private prisons in Ohio are run by Management Training Corporation (MTC).  MTC's contracts expire this year.  What do want to bet that CCA is the successful bidder this time around?

Remember this author pointed out several weeks ago that CCA had been paying for repairs and upgrades to the fence surrounding North Central Correction Institution (NCCI).  NCCI is still a state run facility.

What reason would an outside private contractor have for paying for construction costs?  At best, it's a bribe to ensure that CCA has a leg up when buying the state owned prisons.  At worst, King John has committed a felony with a sweetheart deal.

Steering contracts to political contributors would not be new for Republicans in this state.  What would be new is taking good paying jobs and replacing them with $11 an hour jobs with health insurance at $400 a month, and a huge turnover rate.  That is King John's idea of  "jobs".  This is the future that he envisions.  He better look again.

Utterly Speechless

King John's rambling speech was downright embarrassing for Ohio.  He sounded like he was on coke.  He jumped from topic to topic with no coherent theme.  He mixed metaphors.  He took credit for things other people made happen (American Greetings staying put, and The New Avengers filming in Cleveland).,  He dropped names like a Hollywood whore (Bono and Arnold).  He made sure he pitched the companies that contributed to his campaign with shameless plugs.   It was the exact same stump speech he has been giving.  The boos during the speech completely unraveled him.  King John does not like criticism.  One observation, if you are reaching out to the other side, then why use under the bus metaphors?

Dirty Pool

The word is that King John is going to invoke a section of the law to deny leave to anyone working in a correctional facility. Their endgame is to prevent the busloads of correctional employees from taking time off and protesting.  In King John's State of the State address, he is expected to announce that four state run prisons will be sold to private companies. I suppose King John will claim that threat of privatization creates a hostile environment where all employees will be needed to keep the peace.  I know it sounds twisted and far fetched but you have to remember who you're dealing with.  King John, the master manipulator.

Enough

The never ending pursuit of unions by the Republicans let's me know one thing.  We're on the right track.  Let's face it, the wealthy, have brainwashed untold masses with their unfettered capitalism sermon.  Unfettered capitalism is nothing more than a license to steal.

You tell people that it is somehow in their best interests to allow a few to gain more wealth with the hollow promise of a handful of crumbs at the end of the day.  Capitalism is  a ponzi scheme.  Just like the ponzi scheme there are promises of wealth.

You give a middle aged couple good jobs, a nice house, and a couple of children and you tell them this is an economic utopia.  Add in a few credit cards, mortgages, student loans, a well oiled marketing strategy to get them to commit to buying, and you have the modern version of indentured servitude.

The Republicans sell this as paradise.
When in reality, it is a house of cards.  When economy tanks from excessive greed meeting financial gambling, the utopia is shattered.  That couple loses their job, and they are forced to make ends meet on minimum wage or unemployment.  They are told their jobs have been sent overseas.  But that's OK as this unfettered capitalism.  The couple finds jobs that are ten dollars an hour, no benefits, and a 401K they have to pay into for retirement.  The Republicans say that's too bad about your job.  We can't do anything to help you, you need to take responsibility for your own actions.  But what we can do is give you someone to blame.

Those bastards in the public sector are making much more than you.  Never mind that the jobs are dangerous such a police and fire.  Blame them for your lot in life.  You are not making that much money so let's bring them down to your level. So the Republicans sharpens their legislative swords, and sets to work to bring the middle class down to the working poor.

The wealthy are still making their money.  No one ever seriously questions this.  If they do they are branded a socialist, like socialism is a sexually transmitted disease.  The acquisition of wealth is a God given right of all Americans or so we are told.  There is a word for the sewage Republicans spew, it's bullshit.

Ask the question,
"Why can't I make more in the private sector?

"Why can't I have good pay, benefits including health insurance, and a retirement fund?"

"Why does the wealthy have a right to accumulate such vast amounts of money?
"What gives the wealthy businesses, corporations, and families the right have so much when the masses do not?
When you begin to cry out these questions the wealthy will become nervous.  You've peeled back the curtain to reveal not a wizard but greed infused heroin called the almighty dollar.  They worship the dollar.

It's not God given.  It's man made economic theology masquerading as a political party.  Question why you can't have more?  It is the beginning of enlightenment.

We've witnessed the past few weeks the power of oppressed masses to forcefully tell their leaders, "Enough", we deserve more.  And we do deserve more.  It is time we told the Republican party, and their wealthy backers, "Enough"
